‘The Blackening’ Cast Reveals The Blackest Things They Did On Set

The Blackening isn’t just Black AF it’s  funny AF.

The film directed by Tim Story and written by Tracy Oliver and Dewayne Perkins follows a group of Black friends who reunite for a Juneteenth weekend getaway only to find themselves trapped in a remote cabin with a twisted killer.

HipHollywood caught up with the cast including Grace Byers, Jermaine Fowler, Melvin Gregg, X Mayo, Dewayne Perkins, Antoinette Robertson, Sinqua Walls and Jay Pharoah about all the on set shenanigans.

Apparently there was a lots Kool-Aid, spades and dominoes being played … plus some other activities that had the neighbors about to call the cops.

The Blackening skewers genre tropes and poses the sardonic question: if the entire cast of a horror movie is Black, who dies first? So of course we had to ask if any of them would ever actually go camping in the woods … because black people don’t do that.

The Blackening is in theaters now.
