If you grew up on the East Coast then you would know that New York City summers are always ones for the books… whether good or bad. From the block parties, to the fire hydrant turned sprinklers and who could forget about the number one staple… NYC bodegas! Well HBO’s ‘In The Heights’ will gives us all those feels and more!

‘In The Heights’ is a musical based on a Dominican neighborhood in famed Washington Heights, N.Y. and “at the intersection of it all is a likable and magnetic bodega owner who hopes, imagines and sings about a better life.” The film is adapted from the Tony-winning Broadway show by Lin-Manuel Miranda (“Hamilton”).

Directed by Jon M. Chu, who is credited with having the first all Asian cast since the ‘Joy Luck Club’ 25 years ago with his hit ‘Crazy Rich Asians’, ‘In The Heights’ also brings forth the importance of inclusion and diversity.

“It is very important to have diversity because the more we tell our story the more everyone sees us as Americans,” actress Olga Merediz said.
‘In The Heights’ is now available in theaters and on HBO Max.
