This is a family reunion,” said Morton who got his started performing in his father, Paul Morton’s New Orleans church. “Last time I was here in Memphis we had a great time, so it’s like coming home to family.

“I’m from New Orleans and I feel like Memphis and New Orleans we are cousins and we have a connection, the same way Beale Street is like Bourbon Street,” he added.

The Grammy Award winner also revealed that new music is on the way from his group Maroon 5. The album Jordi — dedicated to their late manager Jordan Feldstein — drops on June 11 and features tracks from Megan Thee Stallion, H.E.R and YG among others.
