As promised, Jada Pinkett Smith brought herself to the Red Table, and surprisingly, her husband Will Smith joined her. They talked about pain, healing, and yes, Jada’s “entanglement” with August Alsina.
It was just last week when Alsina revealed to the world that he was involved in a relationship with Jada while she was married. And even though statements were released denying the affair, Pinkett Smith is now confirming that the relationship did indeed happen.
During the 12 minute Red Table Talk episode, Jada sat down with, Will first stating she really didn’t think this situation was anybody’s business, but alas, it was now public fodder. The “Girls Trip” actress then gave her viewing audience a timeline of events — meeting August 4 1/2 years, and forging a friendship built on helping the singer heal physically and mentally. But, soon after, the Smiths separated and Jada took her talents to a 23-year-old August. She initially called it an entanglement, until Will pressed her to explain what that really means. At that point, the actress admitted it was a full on relationship.
The conversation also covered Will’s so-called “permission”, which Jada explained was August simply bot wanting to be a homewrecker. And although it’s clear the relationship was something special to both Alsina and Pinkett Smith, Jada claims it served more as an opportunity for self-healing.
Eventually, August broke things off and they haven’t really talked since. The Smith claim they are now stronger than ever and that in order to have a rock solid bond, you have to go throw some challenging times. But, Will was adamant — he ain’t going through this ish ever again!
