Internet Thinks Drake Hooked Up With Jill Scott

In case you missed it, Drake dropped a new project called Dark Lane Demo … and now folks think he and Jill Scott may have had a fling back in the day.

On the opening track “Deep Pockets” he shouts out Jilly from Philly. He raps:

”Back when Jill Scott was the apple of my afrocentric eye/ I had to find a way to get someone’s attention.”

Scott caught wind of the shout out and gave Drizzy a shout back on her Instagram account. She shared a throwback picture of she and Aubrey from a fundraising party she threw in her hometown of Philadelphia years ago, and cover art to his new project.

She also spit some bars of her own in the caption:

“Back when Drake was the wiggle in my giggle-white Lamborghini, Maserati @champagnepapi Respect and congratulations Doc.”

We don’t think the two actually hooked-up … but then again Drake did say he likes his women BBW so maybe. The big question is Drizzy who you rooting for during that Erykah Badu and Jill Scott Verzuz Battle?

As previously reported it’s going down on May 9th. Timbaland and Swizz Beatz promised to do something special for the women after numerous requests. So far the super-producers have curated some epic battles for music lovers during the COVID-19 lockdown — most recently Teddy Riley v. Babyface that got over 500K viewers on IG Live. It was reported that close to 4 million people tried to watch but couldn’t get into the live session.

Now lets see how Badu and Scott will fair. Both have a huge following and fan base, not to mention a catalogue of hits. Badu has also been hosting quarantine concerts on her own streaming platform. She received some backlash after she announced she would be charging a dollar for the initial concert. She has now upped the price to 3 bucks per person, so we guess folks aren’t that mad.
