Frank Ocean Comes Out Of Hiding To Headline Coachella

Published

He’s baaaaaaaaack!

After years of rumors, tweets teasing his return and hopes crushed Frank Ocean is finally making his official return in 2020 … or at least we hope so. The artist was announced as one of the headliners at The Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival along with Travis Scott and Rage Against The Machine.

The announcement was met with major excitement on Twitter particularly because fans have long been awaiting Ocean’s return to the music scene.

You recall attendees of last year’s Camp Flog Gnaw festival booed Drake, one of the biggest superstars in the world, when he arrived as Tyler, The Creator’s surprise guest, because they were expecting a certain elusive, enigmatic R&B singer instead.

Needless to say Ocean’s appearance will be this year’s must-see event. Ocean hasn’t appeared at the Indio, California music festival since 2012. He also hasn’t released new music in four years. Endless and Blonde, dropped in quick succession in August 2016, and he was last seen on stage rocking a host of festivals in 2017.

What we do know is that he only tends to hit the stage when he’s got a new project in the pipeline, so  the Coachella announcement is a surefire sign that something is coming.

Now let’s hope our hero doesn’t cancel the appearance, as he’s done in the past. Thankfully this year’s double-weekend festival will have a host of other major talent including Da Baby, Meg The Stallion, Daniel Caesar, Big Sean, Ari Lennox and Lil Uzi Vert to name a few.
