Jada Pinkett Smith “Deeply” Hurt Over Portrayal Of Her Relationship With 2Pac In ‘All Eyez On Me’

Jada Pinkett Smith wants to set a few things straight regarding her relationship with the late Tupac Shakur.

Smith took to Facebook on Friday morning to blast L.T. Hutton’s All Eyez On Me and specifically how the film poorly portrayed she and Pac’s friendship. “Forgive me… my relationship to Pac is too precious to me for the scenes in All Eyez On Me to stand as truth,” she wrote on the social media website.

That’s when the actress listed off a series of storylines that the new Tupac biopic got wrong. “Pac never read me that poem. I didn’t know that poem existed until it was printed in his book,” she wrote.

Smith continued, “Pac never said goodbye to me before leaving for LA. He had to leave abruptly and it wasn’t to pursue his career.” According to Jada, she also had “never been to any of Pac’s shows by his request. We never had an argument backstage.”

She concluded, “The reimagining of my relationship to Pac has been deeply hurtful.”

In the film, which hit theaters on Friday, Kat Graham portrays Pinkett, a role in which Jada was supportive of since day one. “To Kat and Demetrius (Shipp) this is no fault of yours,” she wrote in the Facebook post. “Thank for bringing so much heart and spirit to your roles. You both did a beautiful job with what you were given. Thank you both.”

Graham has not responded to Jada’s message, but HipHollywood did speak exclusively with Kat regarding playing such a major person in Pac’s life. “I reached out to her before we started filming,” she told us. “Looking back at it I should have been a bit more nervous.”

Kat explained, “At the time I cared more about embodying the energy of her at that time versus making it feel like a caricature an imitation of her.” She added that Jada gave nothing but “support and a lot of love and just good energy.”
