It’s no secret that Rita Ora’s been unhappy at Roc Nation. She even sued the Jay Z-owned management company last year. But, was “Becky with the good hair”, and the subsequent fall out, the straw that broke the camel’s back?
For right now, let’s just say no. Apparently, this has been a long time coming. After saying she felt like an “orphaned” artist during the lawsuit last year, it was pretty evident there would be no way to patch up the relationship. On top of that, Roc Nation filed a countersuit stating that it spent over $2 million dollars on Rita and that she was in breach of contract if she didn’t deliver four more albums.
Luckily, the two sides have come to a peaceful end and Jay Z even called Rita and according to Billboard, “could not have been more gracious.”
Ora has now signed to Warner Music and is looking ahead to dropping her sophomore album.
