Pharrell Williams is making history this Black History Month.

The super producer has been named men’s Creative Director for Louis Vuitton. After previous collaborations with the brand, Williams is now steering the ship with his first collection slated to drop next June during Men’s Fashion Week in Paris.

On Tuesday (Feb 14) Louis Vuitton made the announcement via a statement that read:

“I am glad to welcome Pharrell back home, after our collaborations in 2004 and 2008 for Louis Vuitton, as our new Men’s Creative Director,” said Pietro Beccari, Louis Vuitton’s chairman and CEO in a statement. “His creative vision beyond fashion will undoubtedly lead Louis Vuitton towards a new and very exciting chapter.”

Williams will takeover the position following the passing of visionary designer Virgil Abloh.

Abloh, who was beloved by the fashion industry as well as his friends in the music industry including Kanye West, Drake, Rihanna, Frank Ocean and more, died in November 2021 after a private battle with cardiac angiosarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer. He was 41 years old.

Williams has also made his mark on the fashion industry, previously collaborating with Chanel, Tiffany & Co and Adidas. He launched his own streetwear line, Billionaire Boys Club, in 2003.

We can’t wait to see what he does with LV.
