Sisqo isn’t resting on his laurels. The 90’s hitmaker just appeared on NBC singing competition show “American Song Contest” … as a contestant.

The “Thong Song” singer performed on Monday night’s episode representing his home state of Maryland. The Dru Hill frontman sang “It’s Up” (a new song he wrote) flanked by dancers, a whole lotta pyro, and his signature dragon microphone.

He told HipHollywood he decided to take part in the show because he wanted to challenge himself and see if he’s still go it.

“Being challenged as an artist to sing something brand new and see if you can get that same love and see if you still got it, basically this is the show for that,” he explained. “Hopefully America hears my song and pushes it past number 9 … I don’t want anybody to think Sisqo can’t get it up.”

Monday was the last night of the qualifying rounds. It’s still unclear if Sisqo will advance to the semifinals. The three artists will be announced Wednesday.

Check out his performance below and let us know if you’re feeling “It’s Up” and if Sisqo’s still got it.

Hosted by Snoop Dogg and Kelly Clarkson, “American Song Contest” features singer/songwriters from across the country representing all 50 states, five U.S. territories and our nation’s capital, competing to win the country’s vote for the Best Original Song.

The Grand Final goes down on May 9. The top 10 artists take the stage one last time to win America’s and the jury’s vote for best hit song.
