Jesus Take The Wheel!

Attendees at Gospel prodigy Kierra Sheard’s vow renewal in Detroit went from singing along to Faith Evans who performed at the reception, to shouting “coronavirus” like Cardi B!

Kierra – daughter of The Clark Sister’s singer Karen Clark Sheard – got married to Jordan Kelly on December 11, 2020 in an intimate ceremony during the height of the pandemic for just a few close family members.

On December 11, 2021; Sheard-Kelly and her husband had a vow renewal on their one-year anniversary to finally have the wedding of her dreams that she couldn’t have in 2020.

Over 200 guests including Tasha Cobbs Leonard, all her famous aunts from The Clark Sisters and the who’s who of the Gospel industry gathered at the Westin Book Cadillac Hotel in Detroit for the ceremony. It was a beautiful night capped off by a 30-minute concert from R&B star Faith Evans.

Within days of the vow renewal, guests started testing positive from the Omicron variant. Some estimate as many as 75% of those in attendance.

And though she never publicly revealed that she herself had tested positive for COVID, HipHollywood has learned that’s why the bride was pulled from an episode of “The Nick Cannon Talk Show” the Wednesday after her ceremony despite being promoted to appear on the show alongside her mother.

Numerous reports, including one by faith-based insider Larry Reid, say guests weren’t even told for a day and a half that there had been an outbreak at the wedding. (We saw the email that went out on Thursday evening and let’s just say, it didn’t indicate how dire the situation was!)

Now the vow renewal is being called a super-spreader event and attendees are crying foul at the nonchalant nature in which they were notified.

You can’t protect yourself and your loved ones from potentional virus exposure when, in the words of Kierra’s own song: “You Don’t Know!”

We must do better people! Can the church say: Amen?
