A new stand-up special and a spin-off? Jamie Foxx fans could be getting some new material featuring the award winning actor.

Hot on the heels of  Spider-Man: No Way Home becoming the first $1 billion grossing global title of the pandemic, there’s talk of an Electro solo project starring Foxx.

According to known movie insider Charles Murphy, Sony could be exploring a potential spin-off featuring  the version of the character seen in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Foxx’s Electro has seemingly resonated with audiences, leading Sony to invoke a clause in the Oscar winner’s contract to the box office opening of Spider-Man: No Way Home

This is not a guaranteed greenlight of the project, but a spin-off starring Jamie Foxx as Electro is reportedly an idea that the Sony brass is interested in developing and in talks about.

We get the feeling Jamie would be down for this. He gushed about returning to play Electro and his new look.

Foxx portrayed Max Dillion / Electro in 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Now instead of his combover, bad teeth, and translucent, glowing blue hue from 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Electro now radiates yellow electricity and boasts a new sense of style and confidence.

Spiderman No Way Home featured incredible performances across the board, including those by Andrew Garfield, Willem Dafoe and Foxx, whose return to roles from prior iterations were highlights of the film.
