Darius McCrary Engaged To Rick James’ Ex-Wife

Darius McCrary has been in the news as of late.

Last week the former “Family Matters” star revealed he’s engaged after photos and videos posted by trans reality star Sidney Starr went viral. Folks online quickly thought the two were a couple, but according to McCrary they’re just friends. He said as much in a video with his TV mom Jo Marie Payton and also said he’s got a fiancé.

Now HipHollywood has learned his fiancé is Tanya James — Rick Jame’s ex wife. Tanya and the legendary funk singer were in a relationship from 1989 to 2002. She is also the mother of James’ son Tazman James.

Tanya, real name Tanya Hijazi, was also the woman arrested alongside James in 1991 for allegedly holding a woman hostage for six days while they beat and sexually assaulted her. The couple was also accused of assaulting another woman. Tanya spent 15 months in prison.

No word on how long she and Darius have been dating. He opened up about his friendship with Rick James during an interview with Vlad TV in 2020 and revealed he hung out with him the night before he died. He also said James was his Godfather.

Darius recently sat down for an interview to clear rumors about his friendship with Starr and was joined by Tanya. When the reporter asked when’s the last time they kissed, Tanya gave gave her soon to be hubby a kiss and a few other ladies in the room.
