Melody Holt is single and has a new single at the top of the R&B charts.
Just a few days after her divorce from Martell Holt was finalized she dropped the song “Tell Tale Signs” produced by Bob Robinson of hit-making team Tim & Bob.
She told HipHollywood making the song was extremely therapeutic and there’s definitely more music to come.
“It was a sense of therapy to release and talk and release those emotions in telling my story,” she explained. “I think over ages music has been that. You have some amazing artists who have pushed past the pain and put that in their lyrics and I did the exact same thing.”
She adds, “One thing about me I don’t half step with anything ok. I will say stay tuned I do have some amazing stuff in store.”
In the meantime fans will still see the fallout from her divorce on the current season of Love & Marriage Huntsville and her attempts to amicably co-parent her four children with Martell.
As previously reported Melody filed for divorce in June 2020 after 12 years of marriage. It was then revealed that Martell’s mistress (Arionne Curry) was expecting a baby. Melody said she has not told her children about the new baby, and is leaving that up to Martell to do.
“I’ve tried to let that be something Martell deals with, that’s him,” she said. “I’ve tried to allow him to have that floor to have that conversation. To be honest I don’t think he’s had it, but at the same time I don’t think it’s anything [the kids] know to be true.”
Instead of focusing on that drama she’s looking forward to this new chapter of her life, which includes more seasons of Love & Marriage Huntsville and maybe her own spin-off.
“You’ll have to talk to Carlos King and the folks at OWN,” she joked when asked about the latter. “But I love this show and what we’ve built so I’m not going anywhere.”
The mid-season finale of Love & Marriage Huntsville goes down Saturday (March 27) at 9/8c on OWN and we will definitely be watching.
