Draya Or Joseline? LisaRaye On Who Could Play Diamond In A ‘Players Club’ Remake

LisaRaye is sharing her thoughts on who could play Diamond in a remake of her breakout film The Players Club. The Chicago native played the college student turned stripper in the 1998 film which also starred Jamie Foxx and the late Charlie Murphy.

Last week Draya Michelle had Twitter talking after she posted a photo from the film and said she’d be perfect to play Diamond. Then Joseline Hernandez entered the chat and said she wanted to play the role.

LisaRaye didn’t seem to agree with either option when asked during an episode of Fox Soul’s Cocktails With Queens. Instead she thought it would be better to cast an unknown actress so there wouldn’t be any comparisons.

She also said she has nothing but love for Draya and agreed Joseline might be a better choice to play her film nemesis Ronnie.

Either way there’s been no announcement regarding a remake of the film. Ice Cube, who wrote and directed the movie , seems to be more interested in getting another Friday film made.

Twitter also seems to think a remake isn’t necessary.
