Kim Kardashian Officially Files For Divorce From Kanye — What Happens Now?

After months of speculation, Kim Kardashian has filed for divorce from Kanye West. No surprise, Kim was the one to formally file the paperwork and end her marriage to the Ye after 7 years of marriage. So what happens next? Here’s what we know so far.

Joint Custody

According to the court documents she is seeking joint legal and physical custody of their four kids: North, 7, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 21 months.

According to TMZ, Kanye’s mental health issue aren’t an issue when it comes to him caring for the children. Per a source Kim totally trusts Kanye with their kids and because there are almost always caretakers or family members around the children so she feels safe leaving them with him.

No Spousal Support

Kardashian, who listed “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce, is also asking the judge to enforce the prenup that the pair signed before their May 2014 nuptials and asking to terminate the court’s ability to award spousal support for either party.

Amicable Divorce

At this point sources say the duo are not on speaking terms except in regards to co-parenting. That being said sources say this should be a smooth and amicable divorce. Despite months of marital issues that at times played out on social media, things between the two are calm.

“There was no dramatic final moment between them recently where she said, ‘This is it,'” an insider told Elle. “They decided a while ago that they were going to do this and go their separate ways.”

They have been living separately for quite some time with Kim in their Calabasas, CA home and Kanye holed up in his Wyoming Ranch.

Divorce Drama On ‘KUWTK’

As previously reported the couples marital issues will play out on the 20th and final season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians as Kim tries to figure out what to do as things hit the fan in her marriage with West.
