Of course, the Super Bowl is all about football and this year the Brady vs. Mahomes match-up had folks buzzing with anticipation. However, after it was all said and done, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers may have taken home the trophy, but it was Black Girl Magic that truly won the Super Bowl!

Super Bowl LV was a historic event as National Youth Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman became the first poet to perform at the Super Bowl. Following her impressive showing at the inauguration last month, Gorman was equally as impressive this time around as she recited “Chorus of the Captains”.

H.E.R.’s talent is truly undeniably and that was never more evident then when she sang “America the Beautiful” for the football fans. Not only did she sing it effortlessly, but she also put her own spin on it by including a soulful guitar break that transformed the melodic classic.

And the pièce de résistance was Jazmine Sullivan singing the National Anthem down to the ground! Sullivan, who was joined by country singer Eric Church, belted out the Star Spangled Banner so beautifully, she had folks comparing her performance to the iconic one delivered by the late, great Whitney Houston.

Both Jazmine and H.E.R. Zoom’d into “CBS This Morning” to chat with Gayle King about the historic event and bringing Black Girl Magic center stage.

Kudos to these amazing women!
