Each year, the Bounce Trumpet Awards, honors individuals who have risen to fight social injustice in the Black community. This year’s honorees include Supermodel, actress Naomi Campbell, “Grown-ish” and “Black-ish” star-turned-activist Yara Shahidi, Transformational Georgia political figure Stacey Abrams and former American Track & Field star, Tommie Smith. The honorees will have tributes from Mariah Carey, Lee Daniels, Angela Davis, Jesse Williams and more.

Bell Biv Devoe, Busta Rhymes and Terrace Martin are also performing during the big night.

Adding to his already long list of activism, Hamilton is also releasing a song with Social Justice Leader Tamika Mallory entitled ‘Mercy’ this Friday. The song will be accompanied with “The State of the Black Man” panel which will feature Jermaine Dupri, Ed Gordon, Bakari Sellers and Willie Moore, “giving a real conversation from a Black man’s perspective,” the singer said.

Speaking of Jermaine Dupri, Anthony gave us details on the new project they’re working on together. He exclusively tells us that he has a slew of features which includes Keyshia Cole, Eric Bellinger, Rick Ross and more. Hamilton signed to So-So Def in the early 2000s delivering arguably one of his best albums to date, “Comin’ From Where I’m From.” In other words, this new album is going to be lit!

The Bounce Trumpet Awards will air Sunday, December 13th at 8pm ET/PT
