Floyd Mayweather is opening up about his daughter Iyanna “Ya Ya” Mayweather’s pregnancy and relationship with troubled rapper NBA Youngboy.
For months we’ve been pleading with Floyd to go get his 20-year-old daughter. According to the boxing champion unfortunately she’s an adult now and there’s not much he can do.
“If that makes her happy, then we are happy,” said Mayweather during a sit-down with Hollywood Unlocked. “Me and her mother is happy. But, what I try not to do is get in her personal business. Once she’s no longer under my roof, you know what, it’s between her and her better half.”
A few months ago Ya Ya was arrested for allegedly stabbing a woman named LaPattra Jacobs who is also rumored to be pregnant with Youngboy’s baby. Floyd didn’t speak on that incident but did share his opinion on the rapper who has made disrespectful comments about him.
“It has to do with your upbringing. It starts in the home first,” Floyd said. “I look at NBA Youngboy as a child. I can’t get upset with a kid like that.”
For the record, the 21-year-old rapper, real name Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, has been in and out of jail since he was 14. He’s also the father of five children and confirmed back in June he has a sixth child on the way. Ya Ya’s baby will be number seven.
Floyd also didn’t indicate specifics about Ya Ya’s pregnancy, but it appears she is around six months. During his chat with co-hosts Jason Lee, DJ Damage and Blu Telusma, Floyd did talk about the death of his baby’s mother Josie Harris and how fatherhood has changed him.
Floyd has three children by Harris — Koran, Zion, and Jirah. His daughter Iyanna is by baby mother Melisia Brim.
