Keke Palmer hit the front lines of a peaceful protest and used her voice to demand change and justice for George Floyd!
Palmer was walking the walk and talking the talking on Tuesday in Hollywood. The actress stood face-to-face with several members of the National Guard who were on the scene, and pleaded with them to be involved in the protest and be the change they want to see.
“We have people here that need your help,” Palmer said in a video Tweeted by NBC News correspondent Gadi Schwartz. “This is when y’all stand together with the community, with society, to stop the governmental oppression. Period. We need you, so march with us … March with us. March beside us. Get your people. March beside us. Let the revolution be televised. March beside us and show us that you’re here for us. Let’s just do it. We start marching and you march with us. Make history with us, please.”
Initially, the guards hold their position insisting they have work to do, but when someone else standing with Keke ask them to kneel in support, the guards oblige.

I like following rules and doing what I’m told. It’s like as a kid, it sticks with you, believing in authority and doing as you’re told. That’s applauded and its wrong to do anything else… Until your trust in authority becomes uncertain. There is a check and balance when it comes to a government and it’s people, we decide together no matter who we are and what we do, what side of history we want to be on. It can’t be government/authority over ANYTHING because sometimes… sometimes, going against authority is the only remedy for change. Where do you draw the line?
Slow clap for Keke fighting for the cause!
