Da Brat Confirms Tamar Braxton Affair With Jermaine Durpi’s Dad

Published

Someone with firsthand knowledge about Tamar Braxton’s alleged affair with Jermaine Dupri’s dad is spilling some tea. No it’s not Jermaine Dupri. His longtime friend and So So Def  musical collaborator Da Brat is however speaking out.

Last week K. Michelle once again reignited her beef with Tamar after Tamar laughed at the idea of doing a VERZUZ battle with her. That clearly pissed off K because she went on an expletive-filled rant against Tamar and accused the singer of previously having an affair with Michael Mauldin, the father of Jermaine Dupri. She also claimed Braxton got beat up by Mauldin’s wife in an elevator.

Brat revealed while co-hosting on the “Rickey Smiley Morning Show” that it was all true tea, but the woman was Dupri’s stepmom, not his biological mother. She said she can confirm it because she was in the elevator when it went down.

Whew Chile.

“Jermaine Dupri’s momma is Momma Tina. So it wasn’t his momma,” said Brat. “That did happen. I happened to be in that elevator. The whole Beyoncé thing, that definitely happened. That’s Michael Mauldin’s ex-wife. Lord Jesus, no comment. I was in the elevator honey. It was just a situation. And Michael Mauldin’s ex-wife was a little fed up and it went down in the elevator. When it opened, I exited the elevator stage left. I didn’t have nothing to do with it. This was a while ago.”

Tamar’s since said that she’s in a different place and wouldn’t be acknowledging the rumor. Unfortunately for Braxton it was a secret that was bound to come out since many people (including us) already knew about.

If you didn’t know Mauldin is also a well known record executive and concert promoter. He was instrumental in helping develop the careers of Destiny’s Child and Alicia Keyes when he was president of Columbia Records Urban Division. Braxton was not signed to Columbia but did work closely with Jermaine who produced the lead single on her self-titled debut album.
