Brandon T. Jackson: Wearing A Dress Killed His Career, But What About These 8 Other Actors?

Published

on

Brandon T. Jackson is reflecting on the highs and lows of his career … and he has some regrets. In an interview with Comedy Hype, the actor says he believes wearing a dress for his role in Big Momma’s House 2, starring opposite Martin Lawrence, ruined his career.

“Everything went wrong when I put on that dress,” Jackson recounts. “I was cursed by it. I believe it was a curse that went with that personally, cause nothing went right since then.”

It may not have worked out for Jackson, but the same can’t be sad for these actors … or can it?

MARTIN LAWRENCE as BIG MOMMA

Brandon also looped in his “Big Momma’s House” co-star when talking about actors who suffered after wearing a dress. And although Jackson thinks Martin’s career took a hit, we’re sure the “Bad Boys for Life” star would argue differently.

TYLER PERRY as MADEA

We’d argue that no man in Hollywood has profited more from putting on women’s clothing than Tyler Perry. If donning a dress gets you your own 300 acre studio, it just might be worth it.

EDDIE MURPHY as RASPUTIA

Murphy has played female characters multiple times. And he may have taken a break from the big screen, but it wasn’t due to backlash over a moo moo. Now, Eddie’s on the brink of a resurgence and we’re sure he hasn’t missed a beat.

ARSENIO HALL as EDDIE’S DATE

Speaking of Eddie, one of his dates in Coming To America was Arsenio Hall. The talk show host’s career may have plateaued a bit since that time, but with the sequel coming soon, it looks like he’s back at it.

JAMIE FOXX as WANDA

Jamie’s career has been on a consistent upward trajectory since playing Wanda on “In Living Color”. And the fact that he has an Oscar is major bonus points!

WESLEY SNIPES as NOXEEMA

Ok, yes Wesley’s had some set backs, BUT we’re sure it had nothing to do with wearing a dress. Although, Brandon would probably blame it on the curse. Either way, things are looking up for Snipes who has multiple projects coming down the pipeline.

SHAWN & MARLON WAYANS as WHITE CHICKS (Brittany and Tiffany Wilson)

If there was a downside to Shawn and Marlon becoming white girls and wearing dresses we certainly don’t see. The brothers have had successful careers since, plus a “White Girls” sequel is said to be in the works.
