Fans attempted to pay tribute to slain rapper XXXTentacion, but the memorial took a dangerous turn when raucous crowd shut down Melrose Ave.
Things started out peacefully when about 500 XXX admirers gathered in West Hollywood to honor the 20-year-old rapper who was shot an killed in South Florida on Monday.
But, at around 8pm, things began to get a bit rowdy with a mosh pit and blocked street. And by 9:30pm the overcrowding got radically out of hand as some fans began jumping on cars and off of buildings…
According to ABC7, “when the crowd appeared to be getting more rowdy, officers dressed in riot gear began moving in and fired pepper balls and rubber bullets to disperse the group. Police said items, such as rocks, were being thrown at them.”
Thankfully, the crowd began to dissipate around 10:30pm and there were no injuries nor arrests reported.
