American Idol judge Mariah Carey is being accused of faking the funk during her performance on the Thursday night finale.
Carey belted out a medley of her tunes including “We Belong Together”, “My All”, “Hero” and “#Beautiful” … but the Twitter-verse wasn’t impressed. Shortly after the performance, people began speculating on the social networking website that Carey had lip-synched her way through the hits.
Carey’s rep was quick to shut down the rumors, telling our friends over at Entertainment Tonight the Idol judge kept it 100 during the show. The rep claims Mariah sang the entire medley … “completely live!” And, ET also says Carey performed a few more tunes during breaks.
We’ve watched the performance a couple of times and do not see any evidence of lip-synching … a little stiffness maybe, but no faking of the funk.
