Sanya Richards-Ross Dishes On ‘RHOA’ Season 15 Premiere + Kandi Burruss Fight

Season 15 of The Real Housewives Of Atlanta returns Sunday (May 7th) and it’s definitely kicking off with a bang.

Housewives Kandi Burruss, Kenya Moore, Shereé Whitfield, Drew Sidora, Marlo Hampton, and Sanya Richards-Ross are joined this season by friends of the show Monyetta Shaw-Carter and Courtney Rhodes.

HipHollywood got a chance to see episode 1 and speak with Sanya about all the chaos that ensues during her husband’s 40th Birthday bash.

“I was actually there for one of the big fights that happened and the second one I had no idea was even going on,” she says.

According to Sanya not only does Kenya have words with Sheree’s new man Martell Holt, Kandi also goes toe-to-toe with newbie Courtney. In the trailer fans see Kandi exchange words with Courtney before exclaiming, “I’m about to head butt this b*!ch”

So who is Courtney and why does she have Kandi up in arms?

“Courtney is Sheree’s friend, and I meet her first and I love her,” Sanya explains. “She has good energy. She does bring up this issue she has with Kandi in our first time meeting. And I’m like, ‘oh just tell her,’ I’m not thinking this is going to be world war three. I’m thinking this is going to be like a little quick misunderstanding. That’s what culminates into Kandi saying she’s going to headbutt her.”

She adds, “If Kandi about to head butt you … you know you went left, left.”

Per Sanya things also aren’t so peachy between she and Kandi. This season tensions are also still high between Marlo and Kandi and Sanya ends up having to pick a side.

“I start off kind of the closest to Marlo and to Kandi when the season first starts filming again,” she reveals. “Then this unexpected fight with Kandi and Marlo just freaking throws a wrench into my friendships. I don’t have huge beef with anyone. But the relationships certainly ebb and flow based on different things that happen throughout the season.”

Season 15 of RHOA premieres Sunday May 7 at 8p ET/PT on Bravo.
