New details are continuing to pour in following the tragic death of Migos member Takeoff. As previously reported, Takeoff, real name Kirshnik Ball, was shot and killed outside of 810 Billards & Bowling in Houston in the early morning hours on Tuesday ( Nov. 1).

According to reports, Takeoff and fellow Migos member Quavo (who is also his uncle) attended a private party inside the bowling alley. Following the party at around 1AM, they gathered with some 40-50 outside the venue. Quavo was said to take part in a dice game shortly before an argument broke out and multiple people opened fire.

Police say during the melee Takeoff was struck in the head, or near the head. The fatal incident went down shortly after 2:30 AM. Takeoff was pronounced dead on the scene.

HipHollywood has been in contact with Houston PD who say an investigation is underway to apprehend the shooter(s). Here’s what we know so far.

New Details

On Tuesday afternoon, Houston Police Chief Troy Finner held a press conference. Finner said he is confident “we will find who is responsible” before asking for anyone with information to come forward. He also revealed they are obtaining surveillance footage from neighboring business in the complex.

Finner began the conference with a “human element,” expressing how “very tough” it was to speak with Takeoff’s mother following his death.

“I spoke to this young man’s mother just an hour ago, flew in here from out of town,” he said. “I want everyone to understand the pain and suffering of a mother.”

Sgt. Michael Arrington said at least two other people, a 23-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman, were injured and drove themselves to local hospitals. They suffered  “non-life-threatening injuries.”

Video Of Argument

According to a video posted online, Quavo had been arguing with a group of people outside the bowling alley just seconds before Takeoff was fatally shot.

In the footage Quavo can be heard calling somebody “disrespectful” and a number of expletives are heard. The rapper also mentions “basketball” at least twice.

Video Of  Man With Gun

Another video revealing the moments leading up to the fatal shooting have also surfaced online.

The footage obtained by TMZ shows a black male with short dreads, wearing a navy blue shirt, cap and black cross-body bag with patches on it, while holding a gun by his side.

The individual appears to look around while holding the pistol as an argument involving Quavo — ensues outside of 810 Billiards & Bowling. Quavo who is in the bright orange shirt, appears to walk behind the man 2 seconds before the first shot is fired.

Houston PD have deemed the man a person of interest. They have not identified him yet.

Witness Account

One of the main narratives is that Quavo was allegedly arguing with someone over a dice game before shots rang out, but an alleged witness says that isn’t true.

A woman who refused to identify herself out of fear for her safety says Quavo was actually attempting to mediate between two parties who were going back and forth.

“It wasn’t about no game, money, or none of that,” she explained in audio posted by The Neighborhood Talk. She went on to say that Quavo shouldn’t be blamed from a 30 second clip and that after the shooting he passed out and had to be carried to the car.

The woman says the only people she allegedly saw with weapons were those associated with Jas Prince.

Jas is the son of Rap-A-Lot founder James Prince. Hours before the shooting, Quavo posted video riding in a car with Jas.
