Tia Mowry is divorcing her husband of 14 years, Cory Hardrict.
The 44-year-old actress announced their split in a post on Instagram.
“I have always been honest with my fans, and today is no different. I wanted to share that Cory and I have decided to go our separate ways,” she wrote alongside a throwback black-and-white photo of the pair.
“These decisions are never easy, and not without sadness. We will maintain a friendship as we co-parent our beautiful children,” she continued.
“I am grateful for all the happy times we had together and want to thank my friends, family and fans for your love and support as we start this new chapter moving forward in our lives.”
According to court docs obtained by Page Six, Mowry filed in Los Angeles on Tuesday ( 10/4), citing irreconcilable differences.
Mowry didn’t specify a date of separation but is asking a judge for joint physical and legal custody of the exes’ two children, 11-year-old son Cree and 4-year-old daughter Cairo.
The former “Sister Sister” star notes in her filing that she and Hardrict have a prenup in place.
Perhaps referencing the split, Mowry posted a message to her Instagram Story on Tuesday.
“Letting go won’t be painful,” the quote read. “But, it won’t hurt as much as holding on to an illusion.”
Hardrict also took to IG with a cryptic post that read, “Acting off of emotions will get you every time.”
Interestingly Hardrict did not post a statement regarding the split on his social media platform.
Mowry and Hardrict met as undergrads at Los Angeles’ Pepperdine University before tying the knot in 2008.
