DeVon Franklin Files For Divorce From Wife Meagan Good

DeVon Franklin has pulled the plug on his nine-year marriage with actress Meagan Good.

According to The Blast, the 43-year-old best-selling author and motivational speaker filed for divorce from his 40-year-old wife and the case was opened on Monday, December 20th, at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in Los Angeles, California.

The couple has been married since 2012 but do not have any children together, so there are no concerns about child support.

Good, 40 and Franklin, 43, released a statement to People saying, “After much prayer and consideration, we have decided to go into our futures separately but forever connected. We celebrate almost a decade of marriage together and a love that is eternal. There’s no one at fault, we believe this is the next best chapter in the evolution of our love.”

The couple met on the set of the film “Jumping The Broom” in 2011. They were engaged in May 2012 and got married in June 2012.

Trouble in Paradise

Turns out, there were rumblings of a possible split before Franklin officially filed the paperwork. Sources close to the couple tell HipHollywood Meagan was no longer happy and her desire to start a family was a huge bone of contention. Good felt DeVon was a work-a-holic and wasn’t taking it seriously.

In December of last year, while announcing her 30-day fitness challenge, the Harlem actress said she was getting in shape in preparation for babies.

“I’m trying to really get in shape,” Meagan Good said at the time. “And I’m trying to get ready for babies. I’m trying to be in the best shape of my life so that I can start from a good point and be in a good place when I get in the gym after that.”

Following news of their split, the pair posted their joint statement and the same photograph to their Instagram accounts.
