In the words of Nicki Minaj: “YIKES!”
The Queens, NY native and her husband Kenneth Petty are being sued. The woman who accused Petty of rape in 1994 has now filed a lawsuit in the Eastern District of New York alleging that the couple harassed and intimidated her to try to make her revoke her story.
Jennifer Hough, now 43, says in her suit that she suffered mental anguish for years after the attack — and then was targeted by Minaj when Petty was arrested in 2020 for failing to register as a sex offender in California over her case.
Per the court docs obtained by TMZ, Minaj called Hough on the phone and offered to “help out” saying she could fly her and her family to California. Hough declined, the suit states.
The “Anaconda” rapper also allegedly offered to fly her publicist out to meet Hough to craft a statement for her to recant the accusation, the suit alleges. Hough says she refused that offer as well.
Then through a series of encounters, Hough and members of her family were allegedly repeatedly offered cash bribes for as much as $500,000 by Minaj and her associates to get her to recant, the suit says.
The lawsuit states that the victim did speak with Minaj and told her, “I need you to know woman to woman, that this happened.”
Hough says she is “living in isolation out of fear of retaliation” and has not worked since May of 2020 due to “severe depression, paranoia, constant moving, harassment and threats from the defendants and their associates.”
The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages.
As previously reported, Hough claims she was raped by Petty at knifepoint in 1994 after coming in contact with him on her way to school. She was 16 years old at the time. Petty was later arrested and served four years in state prison on first-degree attempted rape charges.
Minaj has been in a relationship with Petty since 2018, and the two share an 11-month-old son.
