First, y’all were mad over the Lucifer lap dance, but that’s nothing compared to the heat y’all are feeling over Lil Nas X and his “Satan Shoes.”

X announced the shoes today which feature a bronze pentagram, an inverted cross, and a drop of real human blood. The black and red sneakers, part of a collaboration between Lil Nas X and New York-based art collective MSCHF, were made using Nike Air Max 97s.

According to CNN, “MSCHF confirmed via email March 29 that the limited-edition ‘drop’ of 666 pairs sold out in less than a minute. They were priced at $1,018 a pair, a reference to the Bible passage Luke 10:18 that reads: “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.” Each shoe’s air bubble sole contains 60 cubic centimeters (2.03 fluid ounces) of red ink and “one drop” of human blood, according to MSCHF.”

As you can imagine, the 666 sneaks caused quite an uproar online. So much so, that LNX apologized.

SIKE!

The “apology” was actually a stunt with Lil Nas X offer no “I’m sorrys” whatsoever. However, MSCHF may be apologizing soon since Nike has filed a trademark infringement lawsuit in federal court on Monday against the company. The “Just Do It” brand wants MSCHF not to use it’s AirMax for satanic purpose as they have denied any involvement with the drop.
