Nick Cannon is always on the go, but now the television and radio host has been stopped in his tracks. Unfortunately, Cannon contracted COVID-19, so for now, work will be taking a backseat — and that’s where Niecy Nash comes in.

These days, Cannon’s workload contains many projects, most notably his hosting duties on FOX’s “The Masked Singer.” But, with Nick’s COVID diagnosis, he’ll have to sit this season out, at least for a few weeks. With production on Season 5 of the hit singing show slated to get underway on Thursday, Nash will take over hosting duties for the time being and Nick is “expected to return at a later date,” according to Variety.

In addition to Nash filling in temporarily, the regular judges will still be on hand — that includes, Robin Thicke, Ken Jeong, Nicole Scherzinger, and Jenny McCarthy. But, Niecy is no stranger to the show, she too served as a guest judge for Season 4 last year. Season 5 of “The Masked Singer” is slated to premiere in March.

While things will be taken care of on the work front, we hope Nick will experience a speedy recovery on the home front. The father of four, including a newborn, has had several health issues in the past that required extended hospital stays. In 2012, Cannon revealed he had Lupus nephritis, which is an autoimmune disease.

Sending prayers to Nick and his entire family!
