Iyanla Vanzant is back fixing lives! The seventh season kicked off Saturday, Oct. 31 on OWN with an emotional a 2-hour episode featuring reality star Shay “Buckeey” Johnson.
Now on episode 2 the award-winning spiritual life coach tries to help a mother seeking peace with her children, and HipHollywood has an exclusive sneak peek.
In the episode, a mother named Christy looks to Iyanla for help while seeking peace with her children. But, when the family opens up, it’s quickly revealed that the behaviors the kids are exhibiting are a direct consequence of their mother’s choices over the years – from staying in an abusive relationship, to remarrying a much younger man. Iyanla speaks with Christy, her children and new husband to help bring healing to their household.
It’s definitely going to be another explosive episode. Iyanla has announced this will be her last season of the OWN series.
“This is my last season. This is my legacy season, I’m out. We out. 2020,” she announced during a virtual press conference.
“This season we deal with the massive breakdowns that have occurred in families and relationships as a result of the pandemic, [and] as a result of the shutdown. We’re dealing with some very compelling issues,” she said.
She’s honestly been doing the work of the Lord the last eight years. We’ll never forget when she got rapper DMX all the way together and took a father of 34 children to task.
This season she also sits down with comedian Luenell in an effort to help her rebuild the relationship with her mother.
Iyanla Fix My Life, airs Nov. 7th at 9 PM ET on OWN.
