Nene Leakes responds TO Rumors She Was Fired From RHOA

NeNe Leakes is directly addressing rumors that claim she was fired from The Real Housewives of Atlanta and won’t be returning for season 13.

The 52-year-old reality star tells ET that she is actually still in negotiations with Bravo.

“We are in negotiations! Not sure where these rumors are coming from!” Leakes tells ET in a statement. “If these negotiations don’t work out, I will announce it myself.”

Bravo also denied the reports in a statement to ET on Thursday.

“There is no truth to this story — NeNe was not fired and conversations for the next season are still ongoing,” the statement reads.

The story in question was from blogger Love B. Scott. According to the site pickup letters went out last Friday via emails to each of the ladies’ representatives and NeNe did not get one. The site also noted that Leakes had a tumultuous few years with the network and producers and was not surprised she wasn’t asked back.

Following the news Leakes posted a photo of herself laughing on Instagram with the caption: “I can’t chileeeeee.

She also tweeted on Thursday, “I promise I’ll be the first to tell you myself! Thanks you for the love.”

It’s no secret Leakes is frustrated and feels like she has been treated unfairly by cast members and production. She also walked off during taping of the virtual reunion because she felt like she was being “ganged up on.”

If she decided not to return for season 13, it won’t be her first time sitting out. You recall Leakes appeared as a guest during season 8 while she focused on acting and she skipped season 9 all together before returning in season 10 as a full-time housewife.
