Eva Marcille Leaving ‘Real Housewives Of Atlanta’, Says She Was Not Fired

Eva Marcille is turning in her peach. The model turned reality star just announced that she will not be returning for season 13 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

“I appreciate the bond of friendship that I’ve made with my castmates and strong personal relationships I have with numerous executives and producers of Bravo,” she said in a statement. “I am thankful for the opportunity I was provided, however, after speaking with my family and representatives, I believe that what I hope to accomplish for the culture and community will be better served by focusing on other opportunities.”

“I look forward to serving the community on Ricky Smiley Morning show and finding other ways to be a voice during this transformational time during our country for people of color.”

Initially when the announcement was reported many assumed the America’s Next Top Model winner  was fired. The mother of three cleared up the rumors while performing her co-hosting duties on The Rickey Smiley Morning Show.

“I think everything has a reason and a season. I believe that my time is up,” she said. “I decided to spend my time and energy focusing on my kids and my community and not so much reality show business.”

Eva said she also got calls from friends like Vivica A. Fox, Jhene Aiko and even Smiley himself who told her she should leave the show.

The model and entrepreneur first appeared on RHOA during Season 10. Her departure comes after a season full of highs including giving birth to her third child, purchasing a home and her daughter Marley Rae’s official name change.

She however had a tough season 12 virtual reunion. Fans saw her square off against Nene Leakes and take some verbal punches from Porsha Williams for talking about her daughter Pilar Jhena. According to her husband Mike Sterling, Marcille was extremely distraught after the reunion aired. He also took issue with how the ladies spoke to his wife and thought some of the jabs were disrespectful.

As for who will take her place … Leakes has aid several times that she didn’t believe Marcille was a good fit for the show and suggested that her peach should go to Phaedra Parks or Kim Zolciak.

It was also previously reported that “Snakegate” shader Yovanna Momplaisir will be an official cast member . Bravo has not made an announcement confirming or denying the claim.
