We may be in the midst of a pandemic, but that doesn’t have to stop your praise! Mega-Pastor Joel Osteen plans to help you get your Easter Sunday shout on with some of the world’s biggest stars.
Most churches across the nation still plan to obey social-distancing guidelines on this Sunday by NOT holding in-person services. And you can count Osteen and his Lakewood Church in Houston, amongst that number. However, the church that touts membership in the tens-of-thousands has a plan to make the day still feel special even though the celebration will be online only.
Now look, Jesus doesn’t need a hype-man and he surely can’t be upstaged, but Joel has called on a few of his famous friends to enhance the audiences viewing pleasure. Those friends include Mariah Carey, Kanye West, and Tyler Perry — all of whom plan to provide messages of love and support during this COVID-19 shutdown.
TMZ spies got some deets on what to expect … here’s the breakdown:
EASTER PRAISE w/ TYLER PERRY
The producer/actor/writer plans “to deliver words of encouragement to the viewers during this trying time.” Of course, this message will be via video and not in-person.
HITTING HIGH NOTES w/ MARIAH CAREY
Mi Mi “will be part of a special tribute to medical professionals and first responders putting their lives on the line in the battle against COVID-19.” She’s set to sing her song “Hero” via webcam.
EASTER SUNDAY w/ KANYE WEST & SUNDAY SERVICE
Yeezy, who has visited the Houston megachurch before, is set to return with his choir to provide music for the service … via video. “Kanye and his Sunday Service crew will be performing in L.A. and it will be broadcast over Osteen’s megachurch feed.”
Does you Easter Sunday plans now include this line-up?
