Once again HipHollywood got an exclusive invite inside the most exclusive pre-Oscars bash and we have Alfre Woodard to thank.

The Academy Award nominated actress hosted her 11th Annual Sistahs Soirée sponsored by Morgan Stanley and Absolut Elyx on Wednesday at the Absolut Elyx House and it was definitely a star-studded affair.

Guest in attendance included Cynthia Erivo, Lashana Lynch, Taylor Russell, Aisha Tyler, Amandla Stenberg, CCH Pounder, Danielle Brooks, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Edwina Findley, Janelle Monáe, Kiki Layne, LaTanya Richardson, Laura Harrier, Loretta Devine, Lorraine Toussaint, Lynn Whitfield, Margaret Avery, S. Epatha Merkerson, Tiffany Haddish, Tina Lifford, Vanessa Bell-Calloway and Yolanda Ross.

For Woodard it’s about all about celebrating the achievements of black actresses and mentoring the next generation.

“To this soirée I invite all the African American women and women of color who have ever been nominated for an acting Oscar and those, who in a perfect world, should have been,” said Woodard. “I bring them together to celebrate each other and recognize we are colleagues, not competitors, for the three jobs designated for brown girls.”

This years honorees included Oscar nominee Cynthia Erivo, Captain Marvel actress Lashuna Lynch and Waves star Taylor Russell.

Woodard pulled out all the stops per usual thanks to event design by David Merrell at AOO Events. The evening was also made special thanks to Audi who provided transportation for all the ladies.
