Twenties

Lena Waithe has been on a roll lately and she’s showing no signs of slowing down. The multi-hyphanate (screenwriter/producer/actress) Hollywood it girl has a new show on the horizon that everyone is buzzing about.

On Tuesday night, “Twenties” premiered in the ATL at Factory Atlanta to rave reviews. The show, created by Waithe, is semi-autobiographical and follows “a queer black girl, Hattie, and her two straight best friends, Marie and Nia, who spend most of their days talking ‘ish’ and chasing their dreams.”

The cast came out for the screening and also a little Q&A.

And speaking of Lena, another project she was a part of had a screening Tuesday night in West Hollywood. Apple TV showcased their “Visible: Out On Television” project where one of our faves, and executive producer of the show — Wanda Sykes — hit the carpet. The show “explores the history of the American LGBTQ movement through the lens of TV in this five-part docuseries. Combining archival footage with new interviews, the series looks at homophobia, the evolution of LGBTQ characters, and coming out in the TV world.”

Congrats to Lena Waithe and Wanda Sykes.
