Too Far? Tiffany Haddish Weighs In On Social Media WWIII Jokes
Tiffany Haddish tells jokes for a living, but in this day and age, getting a laugh is a bit harder. Are people too sensitive — have things gone too far?
That’s the question we posed to Haddish while chatting at the 2020 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday night. More specifically, we asked her about the myriad of memes and jokes that took over Black Twitter after WWIII began trending following the presidents fatal attack on the commander of Iran’s Quds Force, Qassem Soleimani.
So does the “She Ready” spokeswoman think jokes about war go too far? “I don’t think so. It depends on the person listening to the joke,” Haddish told HH. “Like how they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, well the funny is in the eye of the beholder — whoever’s listening to it.” The “Like A Boss” star went on to say that she only focuses her energy on those who enjoy her comedy. “As a comedienne, I don’t care about the people that think I’m not funny, I care about the people who think I am.”
What are you thoughts — too far or depends on the person?
