Believe it or not, Ice Cube and his wife Kim have lived in the same house for 25 years. But that all changed last summer when Cube bought a sick new mansion in honor of their 25th wedding anniversary.

The veteran actor/rapper told Wendy Williams while promoting his new game show Hip Hop Squares that they needed their own space since three of their four grown children still live at home.

So why not just kick them out instead of buying a second mansion? Cube said he actually doesn’t want them to leave. Awww, how cute.

Thankfully the beachfront property is only 10 miles from their main family home and the couple use it when they need a getaway. “It was time for momma and daddy to play,” joked Cube. “Me and my wife would be at home with our kids and then we’d leave and get a hotel and we were like this is crazy.”

Cube dropped $7.25 million on the home once owned by action star Jean Claude Van Damme last May. The 7500 square foot property has six bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, two dining rooms, and six (count ’em, six) fireplaces, along with all the other amenities you’d expect in a superstar’s California fortress — like a home theater, a gym, wine cellar, and of course, an elevator.
