J. Cole Joins New York Protest In Honor Of Eric Garner
J. Cole joined protests in New York on Wednesday following a Staten Island grand jury’s decision not to indict White officer, Daniel Pantaleo in the death of Eric Garner, a Black man who died after being placed in a chokehold. The rapper marched with hundreds of protestors as they yelled through the streets of NY, demanding justice.
In July, Garner, a 43-year-old father, was being arrested for allegedly selling loose cigarettes. During the “takedown,” that was recorded on video, Eric can be heard yelling, ” I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe” as he gasped for air. Garner was unarmed.
While protests erupted across the nation, celebrities shared their voice and concern via social media.
