Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew is now running from more than just the defense. The NFL star could be charged with battery after allegedly brawling with a security guard at the Conch House restaurant in St. Augustine, FL Sunday night.
According to the police report obtained by TMZ, Jones-Drew intentionally punched a security guard, knocking him out, after the guard put one of his friends in a headlock. In the report, witnesses say the guard was telling the football star’s friend to stop touching a young female when the fight ensued.
HipHollywood spoke with one of the managers at the Conch House Restaurant who said they could not comment, but did confirm the incident took place during their Reggae Sunday Memorial Day Weekend Bash this past weekend. They also said no one from the restaurant has spoken out about the incident, and any claims from other outlets are false.
The Jacksonville Jaguars also tell us in a statement that they are “aware of the situation and are in the process of gathering more information”, but can not comment further due to legal concerns.
