A lot of extraordinary things happened during Sunday night’s Academy Awards. The 93rd annual affair celebrated the best of the best in Hollywood and even some of our folks walked away with trophies. However, surprisingly Chadwick Boseman was left without an honor.

There were glass ceilings shattered and barriers broken as we reveled in a multitude of celebratory moments — Travon Free and Martin Desmond Roe took home trophies for their best Live-Action Short “Two Distant Strangers”. H.E.R. and Tiara Thomas scored a Best Original Song win for their track “Fight for You” from “Judas and the Black Messiah” and speaking of, Daniel Kaluuya won the Best Supporting Actor award for his portrayal of Fred Hampton in same film.

History was also made as the women from the hair and makeup team behind “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” — Mia Neal and Jamika Wilson — were the first Black people ever to win in that category. However, it was Chadwick Boseman’s snub for Best Actor in the same film that caused quite a stir. Anthony Hopkins (“The Father”) took home the statute over the late actor who had all but swept the category throughout the awards season and had been heavily favored to win at the Oscars. Of course, folks on Twitter made their voices heard.

However, Chadwick’s family is not upset at all. His brother, Derrick Boseman, told TMZ, “he doesn’t view Chadwick not winning an Oscar for Best Actor as a snub because every nominated actor was excellent and deserving of the award.”

Do you think the Academy made the wrong call?
