Lauren London has been the epitome of strength and perseverance since the passing of Nipsey Hussle. But, although she’s exhibited grace through fire, it has not been easy, and now she’s finally opening up about what the journey has looked like.

London lost the love of her life last year on March 31st and since then has grieved privately, only showing glimpses of what her heart is feeling through emotional Instagram posts. However, for Mother’s Day, the mother of two peeled back the layers of her grief and shared how she maintains her strength. Lauren took part in a “holistic celebration” with Spirtual Teacher/Holstic Health Practitioner/Best Selling Author/Mother Of Womb Wellness Queen Afua.

In the eye-opening conversation the 35-year-old actress revealed that although the world has been quarantining for a few months, she’s been a personal quarantine since Nip’s passing. London also shared that in an effort to heal she “nurtures the space” his absence left and “lights a candle” and “do the things that honor” Hussle. For Mother’s Day, Lauren said it’s important to “embrace those who are still here” and that she looks forward to being “fully present” with her kids, Cameron, 10, and Kross, 3, everyday. She also took time to express that the prayers of people have kept her more than anyone would ever know.

Hopefully, London will one day write that book Queen Afua spoke about — her light radiates and her message could be powerful.
