Why Steve Harvey Is The King Of The Bounce Back

Steve Harvey really knows how to turns his L’s into W’s because now his eponymous talk show has been revived … again!

According to Variety he’s found a home for his daytime talk show — but this time, he’s going the streaming route, sealing a deal for a new series at Facebook Watch. The new show, titled “Steve on Watch,” is set to premiere on January 6.

“Reaching my audience anywhere and everywhere they are has always been the goal,” Harvey said in a statement. “Facebook Watch viewers are the most energetic, engaged community, and so are my amazing fans. Getting all those people to directly engage on a platform like this is the perfect evolution of the show.”

Harvey has already taped the first batch of new episodes for his revived show, shooting new segments in Atlanta between Dec. 3 and Dec. 6 at the Tyler Perry Studios. According to Facebook, the first batch of episodes will run for 10 weeks, with multiple segments a week.

As previously reported, NBC opted to replace “Steve” with “The Kelly Clarkson Show” this fall and also replaced Harvey as host of “Little Big Shots” with Melissa McCarthy.

Harvey told HipHollywood back in March that he was working on something big and would be announcing it soon. Apparently after “Steve” ended its run, WME shopped the show to stations, as well as cable outlets, but then began looking at digital buyers, including Facebook, to move into that realm.

News regarding his new daytime deal comes on the heels of backlash Harvey received following the Miss Universe pageant where he made an inappropriate joke about the drug cartels in his opening monologue and again when addressing Miss Columbia.

You’ll recall Harvey was in hot water back in 2016 regarding Miss Universe when he accidentally crowned Ariadna Gutierrez, Miss Colombia as the winner when it was Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, who should have been crowned and Miss Colombia as first runner up.

Harvey however was still booked to return as host for Miss Universe. The busy comedian additionally still hosts syndicated game show “Family Feud,” as well as the primetime “Celebrity Family Feud” for ABC. He’s also a highly in-demand emcee for numerous and is a bestselling author.

It would seem no matter what he says or does (remember that Trump meeting), people get over it and he keeps booking gigs.
