As we say goodbye to 2019, we thought we’d also take a look back at just how awesome of a year i’ts been. From epic sit-down interviews with some of the biggest names in entertainment, hilarious red carpet moments and exclusive access and coverage of the biggest news of the year … we did it all. Here’s our top nine favorite moments.
Ava Duvernay’s Netflix miniseries about the Central Park Five, When They See Us took the world and Twitter by storm, we were one of the first to sit down wit the cast including Jharrel Jerome who opened up about the moment he found out he was playing dual roles.
We hit the red carpet at the 2019 BET Awards and caught up with errybody, including Method Method Man who we didn’t expect to confess his love for BBW’s.
Taraji P. Henson Walk Of Fame
A lot of folks nabbed stars on the HWOF in 2019 and we were there, but no one got as candid as Taraji P. Henson who opened up about her career and upcoming nuptials to fiance Kelvin Hayden.
Us “I Got Five On It”
In 2019 Jordan Peele directed another hit film with Us, but he also put a creepy twist on a classic 90s jam

Of all the celebs we’ve ever had in-studio none were as colorful and candid as Damon Dash. If there was one story that captured our hearts this year it was the untimely death of rap star Nipsey Hussle. HipHollywood took you back to one of his first interviews a decade ago, was on site at his The Marathon Clothing store and spoke to community members who knew and loved him, and was also inside his historic and emotional memorial service.
