#AboutLastNight: Rihanna Breaks Records & Black Cinema Is Celebrated!

We lit! Like, literally, Black folks have an undeniable glow and we are continuously spreading our magic across the globe. Often imitated, never duplicated, and now, endlessly celebrated. Check out the ways Black people were effortlessly amazing on Monday night — like, Rihanna breaking Billboard records and Nia Long, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and more, hitting the red carpet in honor of Black cinema.

CELEBRATION OF BLACK CINEMA

The Critics Choice Association presented “Celebration Of Black Cinema” Monday night at the Landmark Annex in Los Angeles, California. And, of course, some of the most notably figures in Black cinema came out for the special event, including Nia Long, Kasi Lemmons, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Debra Martin Chase, and Cheryl Boone Isaacs.

RIRI ROCKS!

Rihanna shut it down at The Fashion Awards 2019! The event was held at Royal Albert Hall in London, England, and the FENTY fashion-designer took home a win in the Urban Luxe category. It was also recently announced that the singer was the first Black women to spend over 200 weeks on the Billboard music charts. Kudos to this icon!

And kudos to all the folks who killed it on the Fashion Awards red carpet!
