Ok Dame Dash, you’ve got some explaining to do.
Less than a week after the music mogul slammed TMZ for calling him broke, he goes and gets arrested for non-payment of child support.
According to reports Dash owes more than $400,000 in child support. Dash appeared in a Bronx Family Court on Wednesday in cuffs after two felony warrants were issued for his arrest, the New York City Sheriff’s Office confirmed to Page Six.
“We’ve been looking to arrest him since 2015,” NYC Sheriff Joseph Fucito said, confirming the former record executive was nabbed in Manhattan without incident.
Apparently authorities have spent the last four years trying to convince Dash to turn himself in after he fled New York, one law enforcement source said.
The 49-year-old is accused of owing hundreds of thousands of dollars in child support to two of his baby mamas.
The sheriff’s office confirmed the arrest warrants were issued in relation to the $404,000 in child support that Dash owed to ex-wife Rachel Roy and baby mama Cindy Morales.
Per TMZ , Dash filed legal documents last week claiming he has no income. He called the site “corny“ for posting the fake news in a lengthy Instagram post.
“Perfect example of how they always trying to make a strong independent black man look broke,” he wrote with a screenshot of their story. “@tmz_tv y’all corny for that but the agenda is clear…Keep it up …I’m gonna keep making examples of y’all by winning.”
As previously reported he confirmed to HipHollywood back in July that director Lee Daniels has paid him back the $2 million he loaned him and they are on good terms. He also promoted his streaming service Dame Dash Studios and discussed his role on WeTv’s “Growing Up Hip Hop.”
At this point we don’t know what to make of his financials.
