Safaree Samuels and Erica Mena finally reveal news we’ve already known for quite some time … they’re having a baby. The Love & Hip Hop stars made their big announcement Tuesday via a video posted by their network home, Vh1.
“I’m nervous,” Samuels, 38, said. “I’m in shock. I’m in disbelief. It’s very surreal to me. I don’t know what to do but I know I’m going to be great at what I do because I’m great at everything.”
The couple also posed for a “Bonnie & Clyde” inspired maternity shoot and Mena looks like she is quite far along.
No surprise there since fans have been speculating the couple were expecting a child for months. Not to mention Mena has been wearing overly flowy gowns (at Rihanna’s Diamond Ball) and sweaters lately.
Last month, the rapper, 38, put a stop to speculation Mena, 31, had a little one on the way. “Y’all been saying she’s pregnant since December,” Samuels commented on an Instagram video of Mena in a crop top. “The Internet knows more than the [people] involved nowadays.”
In April, the model responded to suspicious social media followers, writing, “No [I’m] just thicker than before. God willing soon but that’s all festival lol.”
The pair, who have been dating since November 2018, have been open about their plans to conceive. During a March Instagram Live video, the reality star said that she’d been consuming “sea moss” to better her chances. “We’re trying to have a baby, so we’re putting it inside our drinks and stuff,” she explained at the time.
Looks like it helped.
This will be Mena’s second child and Samuels first. Mena welcomed her son, King, 12, with her ex-boyfriend Raul Conde in 2004.
Samuels proposed to Mena, in December 2018 at her house in Atlanta. Now, it’s being reported that the couple will be getting married next week and the cameras for their VH1 show will be rolling.
