Lori Harvey and her Hot Girl Summer dominated the headlines for the past few months — between Diddy, Trey Songz, and Future, all anyone could talk about were her rumored hook-ups. However, she’s now in the news cycle for a less than favorable reason — a hit and run.
While driving in Beverly Hills Sunday night, Harvey slammed into a Toyota Prius and flipped her Mercedes G-Wagon on its side. According to sources, witnesses claim Steve Harvey’s step-daughter was texting and driving. Following the horrible crash, cops quickly showed and found Lori a short distance away walking down the street. TMZ reports that sources say “she even FaceTimed her dad, Steve, at one point while dealing with officers.”
Luckily for Lori, she was not taken into custody. The 22-year-old model was cited at the scene, given a ticket and went on her way. Unfortunately for these celebs, things didn’t go as smoothly…
Halle was involved in a serious hit & run that left her with a head wound that needed 22 stitches — plus, three years’ probation, a $13,500 fine and an order to perform 200 hours of community service. In 2000, on the corner of Sunset and Doheny, Berry ran a red light and plowed into the car of another woman. Halle fled the scene, drove home, and went to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center 90 minutes later. The other driver suffered a broken wrist and other injuries and had to be helped from her car by rescuers.
In 2007, Brandy was involved in a four-car freeway crash that left a 38-year-old woman dead. According to reports, the R&B singer failed to slow down and struck the back of a 2005 Honda at about 65 mph. The Honda hit another vehicle and then slid sideways before it struck a center divider, and was then hit by an oncoming car. The driver of the Honda was taken to a hospital, where she died of blunt-force injuries.
Terrence Jenkins was in a car crash last year, ran from said car crash, and the whole incident is still shrouded in mystery. The Ex-BET Host’s black McLaren hit a parking meter after the driver lost control … the car finally came to a stop after striking a tree. Both the driver and the passenger fled the scene. Initially, it was reported that Terrence’s girlfriend was the driver, but almost immediately her reps put out a statement denying that she was present. So, who was the driver? Why did Terrence and this mystery woman run? What the hell happened? We still don’t know.
The tennis phenom was involved in a fatal crash that shook her to the core. According to the police report, “Williams legally entered the intersection from a road exiting her gated neighborhood on a green light. As she started to cross, a dark sedan cut her off, forcing her to stop. When the sedan cleared her path, Williams began moving forward in her 2010 Toyota Sequoia, but that put her in the path of another car that now had the green light. The 2016 Hyundai Accent hit Williams’ SUV at 40 mph. Unfortunately, the passenger in the Accent died 13 days later due to injuries sustained in the crash.
In 2014, Tracy Morgan’s tour bus was involved in an accident with a Wal-Mart truck driver. Morgan suffered horrible injuries, which took months to recover from, and his friend and fellow comedian, James McNair, died as a result of the crash.
