Published

Look, we’re all still a bit disappointed from the flagrant Beyoncé snub unleashed by the Creative Arts Emmys last weekend. However, we still need to rally the troops and throw our support behind the nominees set to (hopefully) win at the Primetime Emmy Awards airing this Sunday on FOX. And let’s keep it a buck — in the words of Issa Rae, we’re rooting for everybody Black!

Outstanding Drama Actor

In the “Outstanding Drama Actor” we actually have TWO men we can root for.

Sterling K. Brown (This Is Us)

Billy Porter (Pose)

Outstanding Drama Actress

In the “Outstanding Drama Actress” category or fave should be a sure bet.

Viola Davis (How To Get Away With Murder)

Outstanding Comedy Actor

In the “Outstanding Comedy Actor” category we have two talented fellas that deserve the praise.

Don Cheadle (Black Monday)

Anthony Anderson (Black-ish)

Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series

And another two in the “Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series” category.

Mahershala Ali (True Detective)

Jharrel Jerome (When They See Us)

Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series

In the “Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series” category picking between these two ladies will be tough.

Aunjanue Ellis (When They See Us)

Niecy Nash (When They See Us)

Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series

The “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series” comes with an equally difficult task.

Michael K. Williams (When They See Us)

Asante Blackk (When They See Us)

Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series

The “Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series”

Marsha Stephanie Blake (When They See Us)

Outstanding Directing for a Limited Series, Movie, or Dramatic Special

And for the “Outstanding Directing for a Limited Series, Movie, or Dramatic Special” category our queen should reign supreme.

When They See Us – Ava DuVernay

The 71st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards will take place on September 22 from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, airing at 8pm ET on Fox — are you rooting for everybody Black?
